we are open to a wide range of forms and styles in poetry, short fiction, art and photography. we are always watching for new medium, and work that provokes varying interpretations.
our editors read every poem, and consider every piece that comes in. those we know aren’t for us we return within days of their arrival. the rest we circulate among the board and continue to review.
we read year-round, do not charge reading fees of any kind, and do our best to respond to your submission as quickly as possible. to submit via email, click the “SUBMIT” button below.

South Jersey Review is interested in publishing poetry from both emerging and established poets. We are especially interested in poems that provoke varying interpretations. While we appreciate the value of greeting cards and diaries, please don’t send us anything that might have come from either. Instead, send us your best 3-5 poems in a .doc, .docx, or .txt file to Poems should not exceed 200 lines. Simultaneous submissions are welcome, but please make note in query.


We love art and photography, too. No subject or style limitations. Do not send originals — email .jpg, .png, or .pdf files to With submission include artist name, address, phone number and email address. You will be contacted to supply high resolution digital formats if artwork is accepted for publication.

Short Fiction

We’re looking for stories about people and places, rather than about writing itself. Please note that we do not consider novel excerpts. We prefer to see stories that are between 2,000 and about 5,000 words in length.
